This page is the complete Coalition Legal directory: every lawyer published on the platform, in one list. The only way into the directory is an active status in the Georgian Bar Association register and a manual check of the profile by our coordinator. A paid plan does not buy a place in the directory and cannot bypass verification.

We do not publish a profile until the certificate is checked against the register and the lawyer has confirmed the fee in writing. Until then we match lawyers by phone, using the same criteria the directory will use.

The profile tells you who the lawyer is. These seven questions tell you whether they are your lawyer. Ask them in the very first conversation - a professional will not be short of answers.
How many cases like mine have you handled in the last two years?
Not "how many years have you practised" but exactly your type of case - an inheritance dispute, not "civil law". A specific number and one or two examples (without names) is a normal answer.
How far up the courts have you taken a case?
Many lawyers stop at first instance. If your case may reach the Court of Appeals or the Supreme Court, you need someone who has worked there - the standard and the style of written argument are different.
What do you see as the weak point in my case?
A lawyer who promises only victory in the first conversation either cannot see the case or is misleading you. A good answer sounds like: "here is a risk, here is not, and this is how we shore it up".
How is the fee calculated and what does it include?
Fixed, hourly or by stage? Are court fees, expert reports and travel to the regions included? The agreement should list these as separate items, not one figure.
Who will actually work on my case?
In larger firms a senior lawyer signs while an associate does the work. That is fine if you know in advance and the price reflects it.
How often and how will I hear from you?
Agree on the channel and the rhythm: a short message after every hearing, a call at every stage. Most client complaints are not about the outcome but about silence.
Do you have a conflict of interest?
Have they ever represented the other party, their company or a relative? The code of ethics obliges the lawyer to disclose this - you just have to ask.
What a verified profile means - field by field
Every profile in the directory has the same structure so that you can genuinely compare lawyers. Here is where each field comes from and how far you can rely on it.
- Certificate number
- From the Georgian Bar Association register. With this number you can check the status yourself on gba.ge. A profile without a number is not published.
- Status and verification date
- Checked at publication and every 90 days after that. If the status is suspended or terminated, the profile is taken down automatically - by code, not by hand.
- Practice areas
- At most three, one of them primary. A lawyer who asks for "everything" is asked to choose - otherwise the filter is meaningless.
- Years of experience
- Counted from the date of the Bar certificate, not from graduation. Years worked as a jurist without a licence are not included.
- Languages
- Working level only - a language in which the lawyer can run a consultation and draft a document. "I read with a dictionary" does not count.
- Consultation fee
- Confirmed by the lawyer in writing. If the profile says 150 GEL and the lawyer asks for 200, tell us - that is a breach of the platform rules.
- Reviews
- Only from clients who came through the platform and whose lead is in our database. Reviews brought from elsewhere, screenshots or Google stars are not imported.
- City and remote work
- The main office and the cities where the lawyer attends hearings. "Remote" means consultations online and document work under a power of attorney.

When choosing a lawyer in the regions, what matters is whether they appear in the court where your case is heard - sending a Tbilisi lawyer on trips often costs more than the fee itself. Every lawyer in the directory lists the cities they actually travel to.

How lawyers charge in Georgia - 4 fee models
The consultation fee is on the profile. The fee for handling a case is set in the agreement and follows one of four models. Know which one you are being offered and why.
Fixed fee
One amount for the whole case or for one court instance. Transparent, and you know the budget upfront. Downside: if the case becomes unexpectedly complex the lawyer's motivation drops - define in the agreement what counts as "within the scope".
Hourly
Common in corporate and tax matters. Ask for a monthly statement of hours and a cap that cannot be exceeded without your consent.
By stage
Claim letter - lawsuit - first instance - appeal, each with its own price. Best when you do not know where the case will stop: you pay only for what actually happens.
Success fee
A percentage of the amount recovered, often with a fixed minimum. Typical in debt recovery and damages cases. Ethically restricted in criminal and family matters.
In every model, the fee and the costs (court fees, expert reports, translation, notary) are separate items. A verbal arrangement does not count - Coalition Legal lawyers always sign a written agreement, in English on request.
Lawyers by language
For a foreign client or a mixed family, language is not a comfort but part of the process: court proceedings are in Georgian, and the lawyer is also your interpreter of what is happening. Pick a language to see who works in it at a professional level.
Questions about the directory
How often is a lawyer's status checked?
At publication and every 90 days after that against the Bar Association register. If a status is suspended, the profile disappears from the directory automatically and links to it redirect to this page rather than to an empty list.
Why is the lawyer's phone number not shown on the profile?
Two reasons. First, the coordinator checks that your matter really is this lawyer's field - otherwise both sides lose time. Second, it protects the review system - only clients who came through the platform can leave a review. Lawyers who want their number shown publicly have that option.
Can I contact several lawyers at the same time?
Yes, and we recommend it. Speaking with two or three lawyers before deciding is normal practice - compare strategy and fees. An obligation arises only when you sign an agreement. Tell the coordinator you would like an alternative as well.
Can a lawyer buy the top spot in the directory?
No. A paid plan gives the lawyer an extended profile (more text, photo, portfolio) and shows them in a clearly labelled "recommended" block on the practice area page. It has no effect on the order of the general list or on the rating.
What if a lawyer from the directory acted in bad faith?
Tell us first - we check and, if confirmed, remove the profile. In parallel you can file a complaint with the Ethics Commission of the Georgian Bar Association, which opens disciplinary proceedings. You will need the complaint, the agreement and the correspondence.
I am abroad. Can a directory lawyer act for me in Georgia?
Yes, with a notarised power of attorney. It can be issued at a Georgian consulate or by a local notary with an apostille, then translated into Georgian. The lawyer will tell you exactly what powers to include so that you do not have to issue a second one later.
How does a lawyer get listed in the directory?
Through the application on the "For lawyers" page: certificate number, practice areas, cities, languages, consultation fee. The coordinator checks the register, speaks with the lawyer and publishes the profile. A basic profile is free.
Did not find the right lawyer in the directory?
Describe your matter - the coordinator will contact you within 15 minutes and match you with a lawyer, including those outside the directory who are going through verification.
