Opinion About The Third Wave Of Judicial Reform
On July 14th the Coalition hosted the discussion on the Third Wave of Judicial Reforms. Georgian Young Lawyers Association, Transparency International Georgia, and Human Rights Education and Monitoring Center presented the Coalition's opinion on the draft changes to the legislation on common courts, High School of Justice, and judicial disciplinary process.
In this brief, the Coalition’s views about the draft laws related to judicial reform are presented. In our opinion, the draft laws offer preliminary solutions to a series of issues, but some of these initiatives would benefit from more development as they may threaten the independence of the judiciary if adopted.
