Statement on Possible Postponement of Enactment of New Rule on Interrogating Witness

On 4 July 2013, the government ofGeorgiasubmitted a draft law on amendments to the Criminal Procedures Code to the parliament. The bill envisages the postponement of the enactment of new procedures of interrogating witnesses, set forth in the effective Criminal Procedures Code, to 1 December 2014, and until then, the application of those procedures which are provided in the 1998 Criminal Procedures Code.
